    Scottish households have been able to save in excess of £9.8m over the past six months by switching electricity supplier, new figures released by the DECC have been able to reveal.

    The Department of Energy and Climate Change launched a campaign last month to encourage people to shop around when it comes to the energy market.

    It released data on Tuesday as part of the Power To Switch campaign, which revealed that 26,000 homes in Edinburgh saved around £1.8m while 30,000 Glasgow households saved some £2.1m.

  2. British energy suppliers overcharge by £3.4billion a year

    Up to 14.3 million dual fuel customers of the Big Six energy suppliers are paying on average £235 too much each year, smaller supplier First Utility has recently claimed.

  3. Local council in Enfield to launch new Smart Homes scheme

  4. College energy saving loan scheme application deadline approaches

  8. Sheltered accommodation residents protest against heating system modifications
