   Scottish households have been able to save in excess of £9.8m over the past six months by switching electricity supplier, new figures released by the DECC have been able to reveal.

2. British energy suppliers overcharge by £3.4billion a year

   Up to 14.3 million dual fuel customers of the Big Six energy suppliers are paying on average £235 too much each year, smaller supplier First Utility has recently claimed.

3. Local council in Enfield to launch new Smart Homes scheme

4. College energy saving loan scheme application deadline approaches

   Colleges who want to apply for a share of the £5 million College Energy Fund designed to help them implement energy saving measures can still do so until the end of the month, a media news report on this matter has been able to reveal.

6. Average UK household will spend around £60,000 on energy bills over a lifetime

   UK home owners will spend around £60,000 on energy bills over a lifetime, recent analysis published today by uSwitch.com was able to reveal.

8. Sheltered accommodation residents protest against heating system modifications

   A sheltered housing provider has come under fire after residents complained about not being able to alter the heating in their own homes.

10. Energy costs more concerning than mortgage or rent across Europe, survey suggests

    The soaring costs associated to home energy bills are more concerning for home owners than paying their rent or mortgage, a survey suggests.

    Research carried out by B&Q owner Kingfisher across 17,000 households in nine European countries points out that the biggest priority in the home is improving energy efficiency.
